Vedveer Arya Appointed Additional Director at BPCL as Sushma Agarwal Completes Tenure

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) appoints Vedveer Arya as Additional Director on its Board, effective immediately. The appointment follows the completion of tenure by Dr. Sushma Agarwal, Independent Director, whose three-year term concludes as per Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas directives.
Vedveer Arya joins the BPCL board, bringing expertise in energy sector governance, strategic oversight, and PSU operations. His additional directorship ensures continuity in board composition during the transition period while BPCL maintains compliance with corporate governance norms.
Dr. Sushma Agarwal, who joined BPCL as an Independent Director in March 2023, contributed her background in education administration and district governance during her tenure. A PhD holder in Botany and former Principal of Shardayatan High School, Agarwal also served as Director of Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board.
BPCL informs stock exchanges of the board changes in line with SEBI listing obligations and Companies Act requirements. The company maintains a balanced board structure with government-nominated directors, independent directors, and executive leadership to support its refining, marketing, and green energy transition objectives.
