Senior IAS officer Vijay Kumar Bidhuri has been appointed as Secretary, Environment and Forest in the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), following a recent administrative reshuffle.
A 2005-batch AGMUT cadre officer, Bidhuri has held several important administrative positions during his career. Prior to the latest reshuffle, he was serving as Secretary, Urban Development, while also holding additional charge of the Environment and Forest Department and Chairman of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).
Under his new assignment, Bidhuri will oversee key areas concerning environmental governance, forest administration and related policy matters in the national capital. The Delhi government’s official Environment Department website also lists him as Secretary (Environment & Forest).
The reshuffle has relieved Bidhuri of the Urban Development portfolio, which has now been assigned to Vivek Pandey, IAS. Bidhuri will continue to play a key role in Delhi’s environmental administration, including matters connected with pollution control and ecological management.
