Chanchal Kumar, IAS (Bihar cadre, 1992 batch), presently on central deputation and serving as Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.
He will hold this responsibility from 12 December 2025 to 21 December 2025, during the leave period of Shri Neeraj Mittal, IAS (Tamil Nadu cadre, 1992 batch), who currently serves as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.
The assignment ensures continuity in the functioning and oversight of the Department of Telecommunications during this temporary period.
