Kinjal Singh, 2008-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has taken charge as the state’s Transport Commissioner. She previously served as Director General of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh.
Singh began her administrative career as Joint Magistrate in Lucknow (2010) and later served as District Magistrate in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, and Ayodhya. She also held the position of Vice-Chairperson, Kanpur Development Authority.
Her personal journey is one of resilience and inspiration. Following the tragic loss of her father, police officer K.P. Singh, and her mother to cancer, Singh and her sister Pranjal pursued careers in civil services.
