Kalyan Kumar has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Central Bank of India, succeeding M. V. Rao, who has retired from service. Before this appointment, Kumar was serving as Executive Director at Punjab National Bank and has also held the position of Chief General Manager at Union Bank of India.
With extensive experience of over a decade in public sector banking, Kumar has been actively involved in key areas such as strategy formulation, operations, and regulatory compliance. His leadership at Punjab National Bank and Union Bank of India contributed to improving governance, operational efficiency, and overall institutional performance.
As he takes charge of the Central Bank of India, Kalyan Kumar is expected to focus on driving digital transformation, enhancing regulatory standards, and positioning the bank for sustained growth in the evolving financial ecosystem.
