Pushp Kumar Nayar Appointed BPCL Director (Human Resources)

Shri Pushp Kumar Nayar, currently Executive Director (HRD) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has been selected as Director (Human Resources) by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) in its meeting on February 24, 2026. The recommendation, from Minute No. 1 of PESB Meeting No. 16/2026, positions Nayar for the board-level role at the Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, pending approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Nayar emerged top among 12 candidates, including peers from BPCL, IOCL, GAIL, NTPC, and Indian Railways, showcasing his 33+ years in HR development, organisational strategy, leadership, and workforce transformation in oil & gas. An MBA (Finance) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and a B.Sc. (Hons) Microbiology from Delhi University, he previously led retail marketing, lubricants, supply chain, and digital initiatives like QR-code lubricants and blending infrastructure.
The appointment strengthens BPCL’s HR amid expansion, digital shifts, and the energy transition, with a focus on talent acquisition, industrial relations, diversity, and performance management. Nayar’s internal elevation ensures continuity for the refiner’s human capital strategy.
