Rama Devi Lanka has announced her new role at NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub, where she will be leading state-level engagement and collaboration on frontier and emerging technologies. This marks a significant step in her journey as one of India’s key voices in AI, deep tech, and technology-led governance.
Before joining NITI Aayog, she served as Director, Emerging Technologies, Government of Telangana, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s AI, blockchain, drone, and deep-tech ecosystem. Under her leadership, Telangana emerged as one of the country’s most forward-looking technology innovation hubs.
Her new assignment at NITI Aayog extends this mission from a state-level mandate to a national impact platform, enabling her to work with multiple state governments, policymakers, startups, and innovation partners across India to accelerate frontier technology adoption.
The move is seen as a strategic boost to India’s ongoing efforts in AI for social good, digital public infrastructure, and deep-tech–driven transformation.
Rama Devi Lanka expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, noting that joining the Frontier Tech Hub allows her to scale her work nationwide and collaborate with a wider ecosystem to drive responsible and impactful innovation.
