Rama Devi Lanka Joins NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub, To Lead State Engagement on Emerging Technologies

Rama Devi Lanka has announced her new role at NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub, where she will be leading state-level engagement and collaboration on frontier and emerging technologies. This marks a significant step in her journey as one of India’s key voices in AI, deep tech, and technology-led governance.

Before joining NITI Aayog, she served as Director, Emerging Technologies, Government of Telangana, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s AI, blockchain, drone, and deep-tech ecosystem. Under her leadership, Telangana emerged as one of the country’s most forward-looking technology innovation hubs.

Her new assignment at NITI Aayog extends this mission from a state-level mandate to a national impact platform, enabling her to work with multiple state governments, policymakers, startups, and innovation partners across India to accelerate frontier technology adoption.

The move is seen as a strategic boost to India’s ongoing efforts in AI for social good, digital public infrastructure, and deep-tech–driven transformation.

Rama Devi Lanka expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, noting that joining the Frontier Tech Hub allows her to scale her work nationwide and collaborate with a wider ecosystem to drive responsible and impactful innovation.
