Satyan Kumar Appointed ONGC Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs)

Shri Satyan Kumar, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of ONGC Green Limited, has been selected as Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). The recommendation emerged from PESB’s 13th meeting on February 20, 2026, where he topped 12 candidates, including executives from ONGC, MRPL, OIL, and IOCL.
Pending Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approval, Kumar will join ONGC’s board, replacing Arunangshu Purkayastha. With over 30 years in oil, gas, and power, he holds a B.E. Electrical from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, an MBA from MDI Gurgaon, and ESCP Europe leadership training. His 22+ years in project management span power plants, substations, pipelines, and Dahej petrochemical construction; he serves as ONGC Tripura Power Board Member.
The role shapes ONGC’s strategy, corporate planning, business development, and energy transition amid diversification into green energy.
