Shashi Bhushan Kumar Singh, IPS officer of the 1988 batch, AGMUT cadre, and currently serving as Director General, Home Guards, Delhi Police, with the additional charge of Commissioner of Police, Delhi.
Shri Singh is the senior-most IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre and brings with him over three decades of extensive policing experience across various assignments in Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, and Puducherry. He has held prominent roles in the Delhi Police, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and several critical field and staff positions.
In Delhi, Shri Singh has served in command positions across Karol Bagh, South, Northeast, and Central districts, offering him a deep, nuanced understanding of the capital’s diverse security landscape. He has led key verticals including the Economic Offences Wing and served as Special Commissioner (Law & Order), managing one of the capital’s largest law enforcement divisions.
He has also overseen security arrangements for major international events such as:
President Barack Obama’s Republic Day visit in 2015
Indo-Africa Forum Summit, which hosted over 50 Heads of State
Shri Singh’s elevation to the role of Commissioner, Delhi Police (additional charge), reflects the Government’s trust in his leadership and operational capabilities during a crucial phase of Delhi’s urban and security management.
He will assume the responsibilities of the post with immediate effect, until further orders.
