Sripriya Ranganathan Assumes Charge as Secretary (CPV & OIA) at Ministry of External Affairs

Senior diplomat Sripriya Ranganathan, who has taken over as Sripriya Ranganathan MEA Secretary CPV OIA, has assumed charge as Secretary in the Consular, Passport and Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs division at the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The appointment marks a leadership transition in one of the ministry’s most citizen-facing and globally connected portfolios.

In this role, she will oversee India’s consular services, passport and visa operations, and engagement with the Indian diaspora across regions. The CPV and OIA division plays a central role in delivering services to Indian citizens, coordinating with missions and posts abroad, and supporting India’s people-to-people outreach.

Working under the leadership of External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, she is expected to focus on improving service delivery at Passport Seva Kendras, streamlining consular processes, and strengthening a people-centric approach for Indians both at home and overseas.

As Sripriya Ranganathan MEA Secretary CPV OIA, her experience in diplomacy and administration is expected to further reinforce India’s consular framework and diaspora engagement at a time of growing global mobility and international cooperation.
