Vinay Sheel Gautam IRS, Appointed as Director in the Ministry of Cooperation

Vinay Sheel Gautam, IRS (IT: 2009), has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Cooperation under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of five years.

Established in 2021, the Ministry of Cooperation was formed by the Government of India to strengthen the cooperative movement and promote community-based economic growth. The ministry’s key focus areas include improving the operational efficiency of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), promoting digital governance, and creating an enabling policy framework for cooperatives across agriculture, dairy, fisheries, MSMEs, and rural industries.

Among its flagship initiatives is the computerization of PACS, aimed at enhancing financial transparency and service delivery at the grassroots level. The ministry is also developing a National Cooperative Database to map and monitor cooperative societies across India, ensuring data-driven decision-making and accountability.

Under the leadership of Union Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Ministry of Cooperation continues to implement strategic reforms to modernize and empower India’s cooperative sector.

Shri Vinay Sheel Gautam’s appointment is expected to further strengthen the ministry’s efforts toward achieving efficiency, innovation, and inclusivity in cooperative governance.
