Parthajit De Assumes Charge as Director (Finance) at SJVN Limited, Bringing 27+ Years of Power Sector Expertise

Shri Parthajit De has assumed charge as Director (Finance) at SJVN Limited, the Navratna power sector Mini Ratna under the Ministry of Power, effective March 19, 2026, for a five-year tenure. A Fellow Member of ICMAI holding CFA and CGMA qualifications, De brings 27+ years of comprehensive experience across corporate accounts, taxation, financial systems, and power project governance from his NHPC Limited career.
Before SJVN, De managed Corporate Accounts & Policy Section, Corporate Tax Cell, and Employment Benefit Trusts at NHPC headquarters while serving as Nominee Director on Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation board. His pioneering contributions include leading NHPC’s first-time Ind AS adoption (2016-17), revising Finance Manuals (2022), and securing ICAI Silver/Gold Shields (2019-21) plus SAFA Gold Medal for best annual reporting.
SJVN Chairman & MD Bhupender Gupta welcomed De, expressing confidence in his strategic financial leadership supporting the company’s aggressive 50,000 MW capacity target by 2040, spanning hydro, solar, wind, thermal, and green hydrogen projects valued at ₹1.5 lakh crore pipeline. De replaces Shri S K Garg, relinquishing the additional Director (Finance) and CFO charge.
De’s operational exposure spans Rangit (Sikkim), Teesta Low Dam (West Bengal), Siang Basin (Arunachal), and Bihar rural roads projects, equipping him for SJVN’s diverse portfolio execution. His tariff regulation mastery and corporate governance expertise become critical as SJVN navigates green energy transition financing amid ₹2 lakh crore RE investments required by 2030.
