Tejveer Singh Assumes Charge as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals

Senior IAS officer Tejveer Singh (Punjab cadre, 1994 batch) has taken over as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
He was formally received by outgoing Secretary Nivedita Shukla Verma, along with senior officials of the department, marking a smooth leadership transition.
Before moving to this role at the Centre, Singh served as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training in the Government of Punjab, where he oversaw skill development and technical education initiatives.
With extensive administrative experience, his appointment is expected to strengthen the department’s efforts in supporting India’s chemicals and petrochemicals sector—an important pillar of the country’s industrial growth.
The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals continues to play a vital role in driving manufacturing expansion and policy development, and Singh’s leadership comes at a significant time for the sector’s ongoing progress.
