Prior to assuming his new role, Dr. Chhabra served as Medical Director at Marengo Asia Hospitals Faridabad. His leadership journey also includes serving as Additional Medical Superintendent and Head of Hospital Administration at Central Referral Hospital, Sikkim Manipal University.
Throughout his career, he has held several senior leadership positions focused on healthcare delivery, hospital administration, operational management, and medical governance.
His experience spans healthcare institutions across military, government, academic, and private healthcare sectors.
Over Three Decades in Armed Forces Medical Services
Dr. Chhabra served for more than 31 years in the Armed Forces medical services, managing hospitals and delivering healthcare services to defence personnel and their families.
His leadership assignments included serving as Director of Medical Services, Commanding Officer of a Field Hospital in North Sikkim, and multiple healthcare administration roles across India.
During his tenure as Commanding Officer, he led healthcare delivery operations in high-altitude and strategically important regions, ensuring quality medical support under challenging conditions.
International Healthcare and Leadership Experience
Dr. Chhabra also served as Force Medical Officer with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, where he advised the Force Commander on medical and technical matters involving healthcare establishments from multiple participating countries.
His responsibilities included disaster management planning, medical contingency preparedness, and international healthcare coordination initiatives.
Additionally, he contributed to healthcare technology and training initiatives while serving in leadership roles at Service Headquarters, focusing on IT planning and healthcare capability development.
