Kim Chacon has been promoted to Manager, Human Resources at SpaceX, marking a significant milestone in her six-year journey with the aerospace company. In her new role, she will lead the Starship Production Human Resources team based at Starbase, supporting one of SpaceX’s most ambitious manufacturing and space exploration programs.

Her promotion reflects SpaceX’s continued investment in strengthening its people leadership as the company scales Starship production and operations.

Nearly Six Years of Progressive HR Leadership

Kim Chacon joined SpaceX in 2020 as a Human Resources Coordinator and has steadily advanced through multiple HR leadership roles.

Prior to her promotion, she served as Lead HR Business Partner, following positions as Senior HR Business Partner, Human Resources Business Partner II, and Human Resources Representative. Throughout her tenure, she has supported workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, and organizational development initiatives across SpaceX’s Starbase operations.

Leading Human Resources for Starship Production

As Manager, Human Resources, Chacon will lead the HR function supporting Starship Production at Starbase, working closely with business leaders to strengthen talent strategies, employee engagement, workforce development, and organizational effectiveness.

Her role will be instrumental in supporting SpaceX’s rapidly expanding manufacturing operations as the company continues advancing the Starship program.

Career Built on Leadership and Community Development

Before joining SpaceX, Chacon served as Program Coordinator at College 1st Program, where she led academic enrichment and mentorship initiatives focused on STEM education. She also held roles at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Uncommon Schools, and VICE Media, building experience across marketing, education, communications, and leadership development.

Her diverse professional background has contributed to her people-first leadership approach in human resources.
