Bihar Power Utility Welcomes New Leadership
Shri Saurabh Jorwal, IAS, has assumed charge as the Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL), marking a new leadership transition at the state-owned power distribution utility.
The appointment comes as SBPDCL continues its efforts to strengthen power distribution infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and enhance consumer services across South Bihar.
Senior State Officials Present During Assumption of Charge
On the occasion, Shri Ajay Yadav, IAS, Energy Secretary, Government of Bihar-cum-Chairman and Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), was present along with Shri Rahul Kumar, IAS, Managing Director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL).
The presence of senior leadership from Bihar’s power sector underscored the significance of the transition and the state’s continued focus on strengthening its energy ecosystem.

As Managing Director of SBPDCL, Saurabh Jorwal will be responsible for overseeing power distribution operations, consumer service initiatives, infrastructure development, and operational improvements across the utility’s service areas.
