Shankar Sharan has taken on the role of Managing Director at ONGC Petrochemicals Marketing Limited (OPML), marking a new leadership chapter in his career. He announced the development through a LinkedIn post, sharing his excitement about starting the new position.
Before taking on the role, Sharan served as Group General Manager at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), where he held senior responsibilities across production, engineering, marketing and downstream operations. He has been associated with ONGC since November 1991, bringing more than three decades of experience in the oil and energy sector.
ONGC Petrochemicals Marketing Limited is a joint venture of ONGC, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), and ONGC Petro-additions Limited (OPaL). The company has been established to integrate and streamline the ONGC Group’s petrochemical marketing and trading activities through a unified platform.
Sharan’s appointment comes as the group establishes a dedicated entity to coordinate the marketing, distribution and trading of petrochemicals and related products.
