Senior Indian Administrative Service officer Ajitabh Sharma has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary (Energy) for the Government of Rajasthan. The move comes as part of a strategic administrative reshuffle aimed at enhancing leadership across key sectors in the state.
Ajitabh Sharma, a 1996-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, brings with him a wealth of experience in governance, infrastructure development, and policy execution. Known for his dynamic leadership style, Sharma has previously held significant roles in industries, investment promotion, public transport, and renewable energy.
In his new capacity, Sharma will be responsible for steering Rajasthan’s energy sector at a critical time when the state is rapidly expanding its renewable energy footprint and working towards strengthening power infrastructure to meet growing demand. His portfolio will include oversight of energy generation, distribution, renewable initiatives, and coordination with central agencies and private stakeholders.
