Anurag Jain, currently serving as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog, marking a significant leadership transition in the Government of India’s premier public policy think tank.
A senior IAS officer, Jain brings extensive experience in public administration, governance, infrastructure development, and policy implementation. Over the course of his career, he has held several key assignments at both the Centre and the state level, contributing to administrative reforms and the execution of major government initiatives.
As CEO of NITI Aayog, Jain will be responsible for driving the institution’s strategic agenda, coordinating policy initiatives with central ministries and state governments, and supporting evidence-based policymaking to advance India’s long-term development priorities.
His appointment reflects the government’s continued emphasis on experienced administrative leadership to steer policy planning, cooperative federalism, and national development initiatives through NITI Aayog.
