Banking Risk Veteran Amol Padhye to Join AU Small Finance Bank as Chief Risk Officer

Amol Padhye is set to join AU Small Finance Bank as its Chief Risk Officer (CRO), with effect from September 1, 2026, bringing decades of experience in enterprise risk, governance, and financial risk management.

Before moving to AU Small Finance Bank, Padhye held several leadership positions at HDFC Bank, where he most recently headed the Group Risk, Model Risk, and Risk Assurance functions. During his tenure, he was involved in shaping enterprise-wide risk practices, model governance, market risk oversight, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Earlier in his career, he worked with EY as Director in the Financial Services Risk Advisory practice, advising financial institutions on risk and regulatory matters. He also served in key risk and treasury roles at BNP Paribas India, gaining extensive experience in investment risk, treasury operations, and financial controls.

Known for his expertise across enterprise risk management, AI governance, market risk, and regulatory frameworks, Padhye is expected to play a key role in reinforcing AU Small Finance Bank’s risk management capabilities as the banking sector continues to evolve amid rapid digitalisation and changing regulatory expectations.

His move reflects the increasing importance of strong risk leadership in helping financial institutions balance innovation with governance, resilience, and long-term sustainable growth.
