Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated 125 strategic infrastructure projects executed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) across seven States and two Union Territories, marking a significant advancement in India’s border connectivity and defence preparedness.
Among the key projects unveiled is the Shyok Tunnel in Ladakh, a critical asset that will strengthen all-weather access to forward areas and enhance military mobility in one of the country’s most sensitive operational zones.
The newly inaugurated projects include roads, tunnels, airfield upgrades, bridges, and other strategic assets designed to improve logistical support, ensure faster troop movement, and boost developmental access in remote border regions.
The initiative underscores the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening national security and accelerating infrastructure development along India’s frontiers.
