Dr. Amrut Naik has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alkem Laboratories Ltd., effective November 11, 2026, following approval by the company’s board. He joins Alkem after spending a decade at Zydus Group, where he served as President and led the International Markets Business.
Dr. Amrut Naik brings over 26 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise spanning pharmaceuticals, biologics and global business operations. During his career, he has held senior leadership positions at Zydus Group, Lupin, Emcure Pharmaceuticals and Ranbaxy.
His professional experience covers branded formulations, generics, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), biologics, vaccines and specialty portfolios. He has also been involved in building international businesses, leading cross-border transactions and establishing joint ventures.
Dr. Amrut Naik holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmaceutical science, along with a PhD in pharmacology. His appointment marks a new leadership chapter for Alkem Laboratories as the company continues to advance its business operations.
