Gaurav Sharma, an administrator and tax expert, has been promoted to the rank of Commissioner, equivalent to Joint Secretary rank, and has taken up his new posting in Hyderabad.
In his new role, Sharma has been entrusted with the responsibility of adjudicating tax appeals, marking a significant addition to his administrative responsibilities.
Sharing the development, Sharma said that his initial weeks in Hyderabad have been a rewarding experience. Along with his colleagues, he prepared a presentation on augmenting tax revenues in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region, for which the team received the Best Presentation Prize from Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Shri Suresh Battini.
His new assignment comes alongside his involvement in various departmental activities, including International Yoga Day and Income Tax Day observances.
Sharma said he looks forward to learning, contributing and making the most of his new responsibility in Hyderabad.
