Ahmedabad, India — Geena Malhotra has assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd., strengthening the company’s senior leadership as it accelerates its focus on technology-led innovation and operational excellence.
In her new position, Geena Malhotra will spearhead the company’s technology strategy, driving innovation across manufacturing, product development, and operational systems. Her mandate includes enhancing efficiency, supporting sustainable manufacturing practices, and enabling long-term value creation through advanced technologies.
With nearly four decades of global pharmaceutical leadership experience, Geena is widely recognised for leading large-scale technology transformations and advancing innovation across complex manufacturing and development environments. Her leadership is expected to further strengthen Torrent Pharmaceuticals’ capabilities in quality, scale, and global competitiveness.
Prior to joining Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Geena Malhotra served as Managing Director at Signet Excipients Pvt. Ltd. She took a brief career break before assuming her current role. Earlier, she spent over 37 years at Cipla, where she held several senior leadership positions, including Global Chief Technology Officer, Head of Manufacturing Operations, and Global Head of Integrated Product Development.
Holding an impressive portfolio of around 50 international patents, Geena Malhotra has played a pivotal role in shaping pharmaceutical innovation, strengthening global manufacturing networks, and embedding technology-driven excellence across the industry.
Her appointment reflects Torrent Pharmaceuticals’ continued emphasis on innovation, quality, and sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving global pharmaceutical landscape.
