The Government of India has assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs to Sudhansh Pant, IAS (Rajasthan cadre, 1991 batch). Shri Pant is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
He will hold the additional responsibility from 06 December 2025 to 16 December 2025, during the leave period of Ms. Ranjana Chopra, IAS (Odisha cadre, 1994 batch), who presently serves as Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Shri Pant’s temporary assignment ensures continuity in the Ministry’s administrative and policy functions during this period. The appointment has been approved as per the established procedures of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
