Mohammed Y. Safirulla K, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2010 Kerala cadre, has been empanelled to hold the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre.
Safirulla currently serves as the Director of the IndiaAI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), a leadership role he assumed in August 2025 to spearhead national artificial intelligence initiatives and digital ecosystem expansion.
