Manas Sarkar has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), taking on a key technology leadership role within the banking technology ecosystem.
Sarkar brings more than 17 years of experience across technology, cybersecurity, information security, cybersecurity policy, audits and research. Most recently, he served as Senior Cybersecurity Auditor at the Cyber Manthan Center, IIIT Hyderabad, where he focused on cybersecurity policy, strategy and audits.
Earlier, he worked as a Research Scientist at the Centre for Cyber Security & Cyber Defence of Critical Infrastructure, IIT Kanpur, and served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) & IT Security Consultant at the Directorate of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication (DITEC), Assam.
In his new role at IDRBT, Sarkar will bring his experience across cybersecurity, technology governance, policy, research and information security to support the institute’s technology and security priorities.
