The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Rajarshi Dhar for the post of Director (Personnel) at Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), marking an important leadership appointment for the coal mining PSU.
Dhar is currently serving as General Manager (HR) and Head of Policy, Rules & Benefits at Coal India Limited. He was selected following interviews conducted by PESB on August 13, 2026, where 10 candidates were considered for the position.
In his proposed role at BCCL, Dhar will oversee the company’s human resources, personnel administration and industrial relations functions. He will also become part of the company’s Board of Directors and report to the Chairman and Managing Director.
The PESB recommendation will now be subject to the necessary government approvals, including consideration by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Dhar is expected to succeed Murlikrishna Ramaiah, whose tenure as Director (Personnel) is set to conclude upon his superannuation on August 31, 2026.
Dhar’s appointment is expected to bring his extensive experience in HR and personnel management within the coal sector to BCCL as the company continues to focus on workforce management and operational priorities.
