THDC India Limited today announced that Shri Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance), has taken over additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the organisation. His appointment comes into effect immediately and will continue until a regular CMD is appointed or until further orders.
Shri Garg brings with him more than two decades of experience in finance, accounts, taxation and commercial operations across the power sector. Since joining THDC India Ltd as Director (Finance) in August 2024, he has been instrumental in strengthening the organisation’s financial strategy, improving fiscal discipline, and driving operational efficiencies across ongoing hydropower and renewable projects.
Before joining THDC, Shri Garg served in senior leadership roles within NTPC Group companies, including positions as Chief Financial Officer, where he led key financial restructuring and project-finance initiatives. He is academically distinguished, holding degrees in B.Com (Hons) and LL.B, and is professionally qualified as Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), and Company Secretary (CS), securing an All-India Rank in the CS examination.
His appointment ensures leadership continuity following the vacancy in the CMD position. Under his interim stewardship, the organisation is expected to maintain momentum across its major hydropower, thermal, and renewable energy projects, aligning with national objectives for a secure and sustainable energy ecosystem.
