Soumen Ray has been elevated to the position of Group Chief Financial Officer at Bharti Airtel, taking charge of the group’s overall financial strategy, governance, and capital management.
Ray currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Bharti Airtel India, a role he has held for more than four years, during which he played a key role in strengthening financial discipline and supporting business transformation initiatives. In his expanded group-level role, he will oversee finance operations across Airtel’s domestic and international businesses.
With a career spanning multiple sectors, Ray brings extensive financial leadership experience from organisations such as Bajaj Auto, Viacom18, Hindustan Unilever, ITC Limited, and Eveready Industries India. His background includes leading finance, strategy, and transformation agendas across consumer goods, media, manufacturing, and telecom.
Over the years, he has been instrumental in improving balance sheet strength, enhancing EBITDA performance, and establishing strong governance frameworks. His elevation is expected to support Bharti Airtel’s long-term growth priorities and financial resilience amid an evolving global telecom landscape.
