Vivek Aggarwal IAS (Madhya Pradesh cadre, 1994 batch), currently serving as Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Tourism. This interim assignment will remain in effect until the arrival of Shri Srivatsa Krishna IAS (Karnataka 1994).
An accomplished civil servant with nearly three decades of public-service experience, Shri Aggarwal holds academic credentials in both Law (LL.B) and Commerce, having completed each with First Division honours.
Over the course of his career, he has earned a reputation for administrative excellence, policy innovation, and diligent governance. In his expanded role, he will be responsible for guiding tourism-related policies and initiatives, while continuing his ongoing duties at the Ministry of Culture.
Officials and stakeholders expect his blend of legal knowledge, commercial insight, and governance experience to provide stability and direction to the Ministry of Tourism during this transitional period.
