The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Ms. Sindhu B. Rupesh, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 2011 batch, Karnataka cadre, as Director in the Department of Space (DoS), Bengaluru.
Her appointment is under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Ms. Rupesh is a distinguished officer with over a decade of administrative experience in Karnataka. She has previously served in key roles including:
Deputy Commissioner, Udupi District
Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Karnataka
Commissioner, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) South Zone
Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Karnataka
She is widely recognized for her focus on digital transformation, citizen-centric governance, and public service delivery.
Speaking on the development, a senior official from the Department of Space said:
“We welcome Ms. Sindhu B. Rupesh to the Department of Space. Her administrative acumen and experience in citizen-focused governance will strengthen our efforts in advancing India’s space capabilities and institutional coordination at a critical time of national innovation.”
Ms. Rupesh will be relieved from her current responsibilities with immediate effect to take up her new role.
