Technology Development Board (TDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, signed an agreement with InfinityX Innovations Private Limited, Bengaluru, to fund the project “Automated Battery Swapping Stations for Electric Vehicles (EVs)”. The financial assistance supports the commercialization and scale-up of the indigenous battery swapping ecosystem, addressing key EV adoption barriers like charging time.
InfinityX’s IoT-enabled automated stations enable complete battery swaps in under 40 seconds, ideal for commercial fleets and last-mile delivery. The solution features advanced battery systems with high thermal stability, modular architecture compatible across vehicle platforms, and reliability in diverse Indian conditions.
With TDB support, InfinityX will establish a Bengaluru manufacturing facility for next-generation battery packs and swapping stations. This advances standardized interoperable battery swapping networks, boosting domestic EV infrastructure and reducing import dependence.
TDB Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Pathak emphasized accelerating efficient charging alternatives for India’s electric mobility growth. InfinityX CEO highlighted 40-second swaps, making EV replenishment comparable to refuelling, enhancing fleet efficiency.
