BEML and DMRC Sign MoU for Metro Rail Projects in India and Abroad
BEML and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) MoU for metro rail projects marks a significant step in strengthening India’s integrated urban mobility and global infrastructure capabilities.
BEML Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to collaborate on metro rail projects across India and international markets.
Strategic Collaboration for Metro Expansion
Under this partnership, BEML and DMRC will jointly identify, pursue, and execute metro rail projects by combining BEML’s manufacturing expertise with DMRC’s execution and operational capabilities.
The collaboration is designed to create a comprehensive, end-to-end metro solutions ecosystem, spanning rolling stock manufacturing, project execution, and lifecycle operations.
Driving Global Expansion for Indian Rail Capabilities
The BEML and DMRC MoU for metro rail projects comes at a time when BEML is expanding its international footprint. The company recently secured its first overseas metro rolling stock order worth approximately USD 60 million in Africa.
Building on this momentum, the partnership reflects a strategic shift toward an export-oriented EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model, enabling Indian players to compete globally in large-scale metro infrastructure projects.
Leadership and Vision Alignment
The MoU was signed in New Delhi in the presence of:
- Shri Shantanu Roy, CMD, BEML
- Dr. Vikas Kumar, MD, DMRC
Senior officials from both organisations also attended, reinforcing the importance of this collaboration at the leadership level.
Strengthening India’s Urban Mobility Ecosystem
This partnership highlights India’s growing capability to deliver world-class metro rail solutions, not only domestically but also in global markets.
With increasing investments in urban transport and smart infrastructure, the BEML-DMRC collaboration is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of metro rail development across emerging and developed economies.
