PESB Recommends Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem for ONGC Board Position
Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem is set to become the next Director (Production) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) after being recommended for the position by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
The recommendation of Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem ONGC marks a significant leadership development for India’s largest crude oil and natural gas producer as it continues to strengthen its exploration and production capabilities.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 42/2026 held on June 3, where the selection panel interviewed candidates for the key board-level position.
Selected from a Competitive Candidate Pool
Chowdary was recommended from a pool of 12 candidates who appeared before the PESB panel.
Of the candidates interviewed, 11 were from ONGC while one candidate represented Engineers India Limited (EIL).
Currently serving as Executive Director at ONGC, Chowdary brings extensive experience within the organization and a deep understanding of its production operations, strategic priorities, and business objectives.
Key Responsibility in ONGC’s Production Operations
Upon appointment, Chowdary will join the ONGC Board of Directors and report directly to the Chairman and CEO.
As Director (Production), he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s onshore and offshore production activities, including production facilities, processing plants, operational performance, and production optimization initiatives.
The role is critical to ONGC’s mission of ensuring energy security, maintaining production efficiency, and supporting India’s growing energy requirements.
