Kumar Anurag IAS Appointed DM and Collector of Kaimur, Bihar

The Bihar government has transferred Kumar Anurag, IAS, and appointed him as District Magistrate and Collector of Kaimur (Bhabhua). A 2019-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, Anurag was serving as Managing Director, Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, Patna, with additional charge as Joint Secretary, Building Construction Department.

Before his latest posting, Anurag was responsible for the management of the state’s building construction corporation, giving him experience in infrastructure and public-sector administration. His move to Kaimur marks a transition to district-level leadership, where he will oversee the overall administration and implementation of government programmes.

As District Magistrate and Collector, Anurag will be responsible for coordinating development activities, revenue administration, public welfare programmes and other key functions of the district administration. He will also handle responsibilities relating to law and order in his capacity as District Magistrate.

His appointment comes as part of an administrative realignment by the Bihar government, with several officers being assigned new responsibilities. Nitin Kumar Singh, who was serving as Kaimur’s District Magistrate, has been transferred, paving the way for Anurag to take charge of the district.

Anurag’s appointment brings his experience in state-level administration and infrastructure management to Kaimur. His new role places him at the centre of the district’s governance and development agenda, with a focus on effective implementation of government initiatives and public service delivery.
