The Punjab government has posted Oishee Mandal, IAS, as Officer on Special Duty (Urban Affairs) to the Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, following the completion of her Phase-II professional training. She is a 2024-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre.
Mandal was earlier serving as Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) in Hoshiarpur. Her new assignment will give her a wider role in supporting the district administration on matters related to urban development and civic governance. The Hoshiarpur district administration currently lists her as an IAS officer attached to the district administration.
As OSD (Urban Affairs), Mandal will work under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, and assist in coordinating urban development initiatives, monitoring infrastructure and civic projects, and facilitating coordination between government departments, urban local bodies and other agencies.
The posting is part of a broader Punjab government exercise under which 10 IAS officers of the 2024 batch have been assigned OSD (Urban Affairs) responsibilities across districts including Pathankot, Amritsar, Moga, Jalandhar, SAS Nagar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Patiala.
The new assignment provides Mandal with further hands-on exposure to district administration while allowing her to contribute to the implementation and monitoring of urban development programmes in Hoshiarpur.
