New Delhi, April 21, 2025 — Shri Abhishek Singh, IAS, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and CEO of the India AI Mission, has officially assumed charge as the Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) today.
With a distinguished career in governance and digital transformation, Singh brings to NIC his extensive experience in spearheading initiatives in Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and digital governance. As CEO of the India AI Mission, he has been instrumental in driving national AI strategies and fostering innovation across sectors.
In his new role at NIC, Singh is expected to further strengthen India’s digital backbone, enhance e-Governance services, and drive forward key technology-driven reforms aligned with the Digital India vision. His appointment comes at a time when the integration of cutting-edge technologies into public service delivery is gaining momentum.
Singh’s leadership is anticipated to energize NIC’s efforts in developing robust digital infrastructure and promoting inclusive tech-driven governance across the country.
