Also Takes Charge as Chairperson, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC)
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has appointed Smt. Archana Agrawal, IAS (1990 batch) as Additional Chief Secretary, Transport Department, and Chairperson, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). Prior to this, she was awaiting posting.
A distinguished officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Smt. Agrawal brings over three decades of administrative experience, having served across key sectors including urban development, infrastructure, finance, industries, health, and education. Known for her integrity, strategic foresight, and inclusive governance approach, she has played a vital role in policy formulation and program implementation at both the state and central levels.
Agrawal is also noted for her academic excellence, holding a Postgraduate degree in Political Science, a Bachelor’s degree in History, and an MBA in Financial Management from IGNOU, New Delhi — all with First Division.
In her new role, she will be responsible for driving the modernization and efficiency enhancement of Uttar Pradesh’s transport ecosystem. Her focus will include strengthening public transport infrastructure, promoting safe, sustainable, and commuter-friendly mobility, and supporting the state’s vision for smart, connected, and inclusive transport systems.
