The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has announced the appointment of Smt. Avny Lavasa, IAS (AGMUT Cadre – 2013) as Secretary – Transport Department, Jammu & Kashmir.
Smt. Lavasa, who was previously awaiting posting, has served in various administrative capacities during her career, contributing to governance, policy implementation, and public service delivery.
In her new role, she will oversee the formulation and execution of policies related to road transport, public transportation systems, and traffic management in the Union Territory. Her mandate will include enhancing mobility infrastructure, improving commuter safety, and driving technology-enabled reforms in the transport sector.
This appointment reflects the administration’s focus on strengthening leadership in critical sectors to support efficient governance and citizen-centric service delivery.
