Experience Prayagraj Heritage Tour during Mahakumbh at Rs 2020

With the Mahakumbh 2025 already started, there is a greater demand from the travellers to explore the ancient city of Prayagraj. Catering to this demand, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation has launched a heritage tour package for just Rs 2020, with bookings available online at www.upstdc.co.in. The tour, commenced on January 13, 2025, offers a full-day guided exploration of Prayagraj’s rich cultural and historical landmarks.

Announcing the initiative, Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, highlighted Prayagraj’s unparalleled spiritual and historical importance. The city, famous for its connection to the Mahakumbh, has numerous ancient religious sites and culinary delights. The daily heritage tour begins at 7:00 AM from Hotel Ilawart and concludes at the same location by 6:00 PM.

During the tour, visitors will first witness the iconic Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the Saraswati rivers converge. Devotees will also visit Akshayavat Corridor, Allahabad Fort, the sacred Akshayavat tree, Bade Hanuman Temple with its 20-foot reclining Hanuman idol, and Bharadwaj Ashram, which is steeped in Hindu scriptures. The itinerary includes a tour of Chandrashekhar Azad Park, commemorating the revolutionary freedom fighter, and Alfred Park, a historic landmark.

The tour continues with a visit to the Allahabad Museum, home to rare artefacts showcasing India’s history, culture, and architecture since its establishment in 1931. After a lunch break, the tour proceeds to Shringverpur Dham at 2:00 PM, where visitors can spend two hours exploring significant sites linked to Lord Ram, such as Ramghat, Mahadev Temple, and Ramshayan Ashram. The tour concludes back at Hotel Ilawart by 6:00 PM.
During the tour, tourists can also shop for traditional handicrafts, including hand woven textiles, bamboo and wooden toys, religious artefacts, and embroidered garments.
