IAS officer Rajesh Pandey has assumed charge as the 51st Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), effective July 23, 2026, ushering in a new phase of leadership for one of India’s leading integrated power utilities.
A senior IAS officer with nearly 31 years of experience in public service, Pandey has held several key administrative assignments across the power sector, public administration, consumer affairs, industry, and cooperative governance. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to policy formulation, institutional leadership, and the implementation of strategic government initiatives.
As Chairman of DVC, Pandey will oversee the corporation’s operations across power generation, transmission, distribution, and water resource management. His leadership is expected to support DVC’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen energy infrastructure, and contribute to India’s evolving power sector.
His appointment reflects the government’s continued emphasis on experienced administrative leadership to guide one of the country’s most significant public sector power utilities through its next phase of growth and development.
