Johny Tom Varghese IAS Appointed as Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Mines

In a key administrative development, Johny Tom Varghese, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2014 batch from the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. His appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a fixed tenure of four years.

The Ministry of Mines plays a vital role in formulating and administering policies related to mineral exploration and development in India. In his new capacity, Shri Varghese will be closely involved in driving strategic initiatives and regulatory reforms aimed at ensuring sustainable and transparent mining practices across the country.
