Md. Anzar Alam has assumed the additional charge of Director (Finance) at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL). He will continue to serve in his current role as Director (Finance) at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL).
A finance professional with more than three decades of experience, Alam has built an extensive career across financial management, corporate strategy, internal audit, information technology, and operational functions. Before joining ECL, he held several key positions at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), where he contributed to a range of strategic and financial initiatives.
An alumnus of BIT Sindri, Pondicherry University, and IIM Kolkata (PGPEX), Alam has been associated with projects involving global resource acquisition, financial evaluation of international mining ventures, and the establishment of International Coal Ventures Limited (ICVL). He has also led digital transformation initiatives, including the implementation of technology-driven systems for payroll processing and customer refund management.
His additional responsibility at MCL comes as the company continues to strengthen its financial management and operational efficiency in support of its coal production and business objectives.
