Mihir Kumar Singh, IAS officer of the 1993 Bihar cadre, has been appointed as the new Development Commissioner of Bihar, marking a major administrative transition in the state’s senior bureaucracy.
He was previously serving as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Department of Industries, along with additional responsibilities as ACS, Transport Department and Director General–cum–Chief Enquiry Commissioner, Bihar. During his tenure in these roles, he oversaw key policy reforms, departmental coordination, and major governance initiatives across multiple sectors.
With his new assignment as Development Commissioner, Mihir Kumar Singh will lead the state’s development planning, administrative monitoring, and inter-departmental programme implementation. The role is one of the most senior positions in the Bihar government, responsible for driving large-scale development strategies and ensuring the execution of flagship schemes.
His wide-ranging experience across industries, transport, and governance is expected to strengthen Bihar’s developmental priorities and support the state’s long-term growth agenda.
He has officially taken charge of his new responsibilities.
