Kundan Kumar, IAS officer of the 2004 Bihar cadre, has been transferred and appointed as the new Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, Patna. He will continue to hold several key additional responsibilities, reflecting the state government’s confidence in his administrative leadership.
Kundan Kumar is presently serving as Resident Commissioner, Bihar Bhavan, New Delhi, along with additional charges as Investment Commissioner, Department of Industries (Mumbai); CEO, Bihar Foundation; Managing Director, Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA); and Managing Director, Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA), Bihar.
Under the latest assignment order, he will continue to retain all these additional portfolios even after assuming charge as Secretary, Industry, making him responsible for a wide spectrum of industrial development, investment promotion, diaspora engagement, and infrastructure initiatives.
Kundan Kumar’s expanded mandate is expected to strengthen Bihar’s industrial growth strategy, accelerate investment facilitation, and support the state’s ongoing efforts to build a robust and competitive industrial ecosystem.
He has formally taken charge of his new responsibilities.
