Piyusha Burdak IAS Posted as OSD (Urban Affairs) to DC, Ludhiana

The Punjab government has posted Piyusha Burdak, IAS, as Officer on Special Duty (Urban Affairs) to the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, following her return from Phase-II professional training. A 2024-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre, Burdak will now take up a district-level assignment focused on urban affairs and development.

Burdak was previously serving as Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) in Amritsar. Her new posting provides her with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in district administration while working closely with the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana.

As OSD (Urban Affairs), Burdak will support the district administration in matters related to urban development, infrastructure projects, civic services and implementation of government schemes. The role will also involve coordination with urban local bodies, government departments and other agencies involved in development activities.

Her posting is part of a wider Punjab government exercise under which 10 IAS officers of the 2024 batch have been assigned OSD (Urban Affairs) responsibilities across districts including Pathankot, Amritsar, Moga, Jalandhar, SAS Nagar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Patiala. The postings have been made following the officers’ completion of Phase-II training and are effective immediately.

The assignment gives Burdak a significant opportunity to work at the field level and contribute to urban governance and development initiatives in Ludhiana, one of Punjab’s major urban centres. Her new role is expected to provide valuable administrative exposure as she progresses in her career in the Punjab cadre.
