Union Minister for Power, Shri Manohar Lal, inaugurated the Ministry of Power Pavilion at
the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on February 18, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi,
highlighting India’s drive to harness artificial intelligence for a future-ready, efficient, and
resilient power sector. Themed “From Megawatts to Megabytes: Transforming India’s Power
Ecosystem,” the pavilion showcases how digital technologies are revolutionizing generation,
transmission, and distribution systems.
Key exhibits include AI-powered grid management platforms for real-time monitoring,
predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection, optimizing operations and minimizing
outages. Advanced analytics enable demand forecasting, renewable energy integration, and
dynamic load balancing, supporting India’s ambitious clean energy targets. Cybersecurity
solutions protect critical infrastructure from evolving threats, while AI-driven consumer
services offer personalized energy insights, faster grievance redressal, and smart metering
for efficiency.
The pavilion emphasizes AI’s role in decarbonization, with tools for emissions tracking,
energy optimization, and sustainable planning across the value chain. Interactive demos
illustrate seamless integration of renewables like solar and wind into the grid, ensuring
stability amid fluctuating supply.
During the visit, the Minister toured the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) exhibition,
where Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar detailed AI applications enhancing passenger
experience and operations. DMRC leverages AI for rapid customer grievance resolution and
monitoring critical assets like overhead electrification (OHE), pantograph-OHE interactions,
wheel grinding, rolling stock subsystems, and signaling systems.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s vision of AI strengthening infrastructure reliability,
boosting efficiency, and driving sustainable growth. By fostering innovation, it positions
India’s power sector as a global benchmark for intelligent, resilient energy systems toward
Viksit Bharat 2047.
