Pramod Kumar Bhakal Empanelled for Joint Secretary-Level Post at Centre

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of Pramod Kumar Bhakal, IRSE, for holding a Joint Secretary or Joint Secretary-equivalent position in the Government of India.

Bhakal is a 2004-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (Civil). His empanelment was approved by the ACC on July 27, 2026, along with fellow IRSE officers Atul Kumar Verma and Ravi Kant.

The empanelment makes Bhakal eligible for consideration for senior-level assignments across various ministries, departments and organisations of the Central Government, subject to the availability of positions and the prescribed selection process.

A Joint Secretary-level role carries significant responsibilities in policymaking, programme implementation, inter-ministerial coordination and administrative oversight. Bhakal’s empanelment marks an important milestone in his career and opens the way for a potential transition to a senior policy and administrative role at the Centre.
