The Government of India has approved the premature repatriation of Shri Rajeev Sharma, IPS (1990: Rajasthan cadre) to his parent cadre following his appointment as the Director General of Police (DGP), Rajasthan.
Until now, Shri Sharma was serving as Director General, Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. During his tenure at the Centre, he contributed significantly to police modernization, training reforms, and research-driven policy support for strengthening India’s law enforcement architecture.
With a distinguished service record spanning over three decades, Shri Sharma brings deep expertise in operational policing, law & order management, and institutional capacity-building.
His appointment as the DGP of Rajasthan comes at a crucial time as the state continues to strengthen internal security mechanisms and community policing initiatives.
